The Texas A&M Engineering Academy at South Texas College is an innovative co-enrollment program that provides a pathway to students interested in pursuing an engineering degree at Texas A&M University. Students admitted to the Engineering Academy at South Texas College are Texas A&M engineering students co-enrolled at Texas A&M University in the College of Engineering and at South Texas College. 

Prequalification requirements:  
You must satisfy one of the math readiness criteria to be qualified for the Engineering Academy: 

  • Course accepted to show college readiness: Your current college transcripts show credit for college algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus or calculus I with a grade of A, B or C High school transcripts show completion of algebra II, honors pre-calculus, pre-AP pre-calculus or AP calculus course with a grade of A, B or C 
  • Exams and scores for pre-calculus: ACT Math score of at least 25 or an SAT Math score of at least 560
