Three faculty members have joined the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University with research expertise in areas such as empirical software engineering practices, artificial intelligence and big data systems.

Dr. Dilma Da Silva and Dr. Raymundo Arroyave from the Texas A&M University College of Engineering are part of a research project that has received a $3.9 million grant from the National Science Foundation that will allow the university to acquire a next-generation, composable high-performance computing platform.

A team of Texas A&M University researchers have developed a weakly supervised approach that can train machine learning algorithms quickly to recognize social media text related to disasters.
