The Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Houston Community College-Spring Branch (HCC) is an innovative co-enrollment program that provides a pathway to students interested in pursuing an engineering degree at Texas A&M University. Students admitted to the Engineering Academy at Houston Community College-Spring Branch are Texas A&M engineering students co-enrolled at Texas A&M University in the College of Engineering and at Houston Community College. 

Prequalification requirements:  
You must satisfy one of the math readiness criteria to be qualified for the Engineering Academy: 

  • Exams and scores for pre-calculus (minimum requirements): 
    • ACT Math: 24  
    • SAT Math: 580  
    • Accuplacer Math: 265  
  • Exams and scores for calculus 1 (preferred requirements):  
    • ACT Math: 27  
    • SAT Math: 620  
    • Accuplacer Math: 285  
  • Course accepted to show college readiness: enrollment in Math 1316/trigonometry or higher 

You must have a cumulative GPA above 2.5, and you must have sufficient cohort and core classes to maintain full-time enrollment for at least one year.
