Slyck and Wayne Pecena have established the Slyck '91 and Wayne '75 Pecena Endowed Engineering Technology Scholarship and Endowed Engineering Technology Capstone Fund to support students at Texas A&M University.

Texas A&M University's Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE) team took first place at FSAE Nevada, breaking the national record for most points scored by an internal combustion car during an FSAE competition. This victory marks the eighth time Texas A&M has won the contest.

At the Mad Hacks: Fury Code hackathon, teams were given the task of developing cybersecurity tools for the Department of Defense. Two students from Texas A&M University were part of a team recognized as finalists for their innovative solution to prevent autonomous military vehicles from cyberattacks.
