Interested in an online graduate degree in petroleum engineering? Here are a few things you need to know about our program.

Application and Degree Requirements

All students applying for an online graduate degree program must have completed their bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering or a closely related field. Application instructions are on the Graduate Admissions page.

For the online Ph.D. program, you must have completed a Master of Science with a thesis prior to applying. You may also be required to participate in an interview with the Director of Distance Learning.

Please review our online petroleum engineering degree pages for detailed degree requirements:

Application process and admission standards are the same as on-campus learning

The GRE is part of our admission requirements, so it is mandatory, but you will only need to submit the verbal and quantitative sections.

We do not accept GMAT.

You will need some equipment

Online classes require good computers, internet connections and cameras.

The online degree is slightly more expensive

While the costs may be more expensive for courses and registration, you won't need to go to the expense of moving anywhere.

Incomplete applications are not reviewed

Due to the high volume of emails and telephone calls, the graduate committee will not review transcripts, resumes, statements of purpose, or other parts of an application before a student submits their completed application to Texas A&M University.
