We believe there are many advantages to earning an online petroleum engineering graduate degree from us:
- You can continue to work full-time
- You can study during hours convenient to you
- You do not have to come to campus to complete any course requirements
However, the cost of an online degree is higher than attending classes on campus. This is because many factors affect the expense of an online education:
- Number of courses you take, with each course representing three credit hours
- Textbooks and publications
- Software and required technology
- Changes in university tuition or fees
- Other fees associated with specific courses
Estimating your cost
Fees and tuition can change without notice, but you can estimate the cost of your degree based on:
- Your established residence
- Current tuition information
- Current online education fees
- Additional distance education differential tuition
- A graduation fee
The Texas A&M Tuition Calculator has the most up-to-date information on tuition and fees. Other websites, including Student Business Services and Financial Aid, may also be beneficial when estimating the cost of attendance.
Hours of classes needed
The number of credit hours required differs based on your online degree program.
- Online Master of Engineering: 32 credit hours
- Online Master of Science: 30 credit hours
- Online Doctor of Philosophy: 64 credit hours beyond the Master of Science with thesis
Your course needs should be discussed with your advisor before filling out your degree plan, but you can also contact our staff with your questions before you apply to our program.
