Overview
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Research Internship Program was designed to give students the opportunity to participate in research while experiencing another culture. Students are able to work closely with faculty members who are conducting research in a particular area of interest. Engaging in current research is a great way to enhance your engineering knowledge.
Students will also have the opportunity to explore and enjoy Greek culture. Thessaloniki is a port city located on the Thermaic Gulf of the Aegean Sea. It is filled with historic evidence of the Byzantine, Roman and Ottoman empires. The Rotunda is just one of the city's many historic sites.
If you are a sophomore, junior or senior student interested in spending the summer living in Greece and engaging in research at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, this is the program for you.
A highlight of our collaboration with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) is the Center for Research and Development of Advanced Materials (CERDAM), which was established in Thessaloniki in 2016 and focuses on manufacturing, testing and multiscale modeling of advanced, multi-functional materials. This center is situated in a modern building that hosts excellent interdisciplinary teams constituting the Center for Interdisciplinary Research and Innovation (KEDEK) of AUTh. Indicative topics for research internships include:
- Additive manufacturing
- Multiscale modeling of advanced, multi-functional materials
- Composites
- Biomaterials
- Civil engineering materials and structures
- Advanced characterization and testing
