Major: Mechanical Engineering
Class of: 2018
Hometown: Flower Mound, Texas
Why did you choose mechanical
engineering?
I have always been interested in the mechanisms that drive
today's society. I was drawn to mechanical engineering so that I
could design the technological mechanisms that progress society
forward.
Why did you choose Texas A&M
University?
I chose Texas A&M, so that I
could gain one of the best educational opportunities in Mechanical
Engineering, while being exposed to a diverse population of peers.
Other universities do not have the open and friendly environment
that A&M provides, so I knew that I wanted to experience
college around others that are different than myself.
What was the best part of your experience in the Texas
A&M MEEN department?
Every professor that I have had within the Mechanical Engineering
school has truly wanted to pass down take-aways to the students. In
each of my MEEN classes, the professors have correlated what we are
studying to real life scenarios or problems that arise within the
engineering field. This has kept my interest in each class deep,
and has made me excited each semester for the following
classes.
Why did you become a MEEN
Ambassador?
I enjoy mentoring, and I know how much this university has given to
me, so I hoped to pay all this forward. Serving as a Mechanical
Engineering Ambassador has provided me the opportunity to represent
and serve the program that has given me so much.
What research, work, and/or study abroad experiences
have you had?
I worked for a year in a Materials Science lab, researching
Metallic Glass. I also had an internship for Martinrea
International, where I worked on the drive train and suspension for
upcoming vehicles.
If you could give one piece of advice to incoming MEEN
students, what would it
be?
Develop your study
habits early. The quicker you can reduce the stress that is
accompanied by classes, the more you will thank yourself in the
future.
What organizations are you a part of or have you
been a part of? Have you or do you currently hold an officer
position?
In the past, I
have been a part of MSC FISH, a Freshman leadership organization. I
also have served as the Vice-President of One Army: a men's service
and leadership organization.
Are you a transfer student? Did you
participate in the entry to major
process?
I participated in the entry to major
process.
