Major: Mechanical Engineering

Class of: 2017

Hometown: Katy, Texas

Why did you choose mechanical engineering?
I chose mechanical engineering to pursue a career in the energy field.

Why did you choose Texas A&M University?
I chose A&M because it was one of the best universities to pursue an engineering degree and it was close to home.

What was the best part of your experience in the Texas A&M MEEN department?
Being able to take the MEEN 361 lab has been the best part of my experience in the MEEN department.

Why did you become a MEEN Ambassador?
I started off in CVEN and transferred into the MEEN department. It was not an easy process and there's a lot of information that I feel would've been helpful to me back then. I admired the opportunity to help students that are in the same boat as I am or are going through similar struggles that I went through. I enjoy helping others and being a small part in their success.

What research, work, and/or study abroad experiences have you had?
I had an internship at CenterPoint Energy in Houston. They are a natural gas and utilities company and I had the opportunity to work with their Technical Field Operations department.

If you could give one piece of advice to incoming MEEN students, what would it be?
GO TO CLASS!!!

What organizations are you a part of or have you been a part of? Have you or do you currently hold an officer position?
I have been a part of the National Society of Black Engineers and ASME.

Are you a transfer student? Did you participate in the entry to major process?
I went through the 'change of major' process switching from civil to mechanical engineering
.
