Overview
The Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science (IMMS) of the Polish Academy of Sciences conducts fundamental and applied research on metallic materials for a variety of structural and functional applications. This internship will pair undergraduate students from Texas A&M University with researchers at IMMS to conduct experimental research on metals.
About the University
The IMMS began operation in 1952 and is located near the campus of the AGH University of Science and Technology in downtown Krakow, Poland. Its current areas of research interest include user-friendly materials, amorphous and nanocrystalline solids, multifunctional materials and development of novel research tools.

Eligibility and Requirements
Admission into this program is competitive, and availability is limited. Evaluation will be based on academic performance, application package materials and program goals. Only complete applications that meet all minimum admissions criteria will be accepted for evaluation.
Students who desire to study abroad in Poland must have:
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Good academic standing with the university
- Attendance at all required program-specific orientations
- Sophomore, junior, or senior classification (seniors graduating in the summer are not eligible)
Foreign Language Requirement
None. Participating students will interact with IMMS staff in English.
