Overview
Professor Jiří Homola leads a team that is engaged in the research of photonic and plasmonic (nano) structures and functional biomolecules, the development of optical measuring methods and systems, the study of biomolecular interactions and detection of chemical and biological agents in areas such as medical diagnostics, food quality control or environmental monitoring.

Eligibility and Requirements
Admission to this program is competitive and availability is limited. Evaluation will be based on academic performance, application package materials and program goals. Only complete applications that meet all minimum admissions criteria will be accepted for evaluation.
Students who desire to study abroad in Malaysia must have:
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Good academic standing with the university
- Attendance at all required program-specific orientations
- Sophomore, junior or senior classification (seniors graduating in the summer are not eligible)
- Open only to biomedical engineering students and multidisciplinary engineering students
