Overview
This is a three-week study abroad program with the European Innovation Academy on entrepreneurship and innovation. Hone your business skills and cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset. This unique, intensive learning experience brings together hundreds of students from across the world, offering an international working environment. Gain valuable insights from renowned mentors and speakers, collaborate on an innovative project, develop your professional network, and pitch your idea to a global investor community.
Courses Offered
Participating students successfully completing the program will receive course credit for ENGR 461 (if they have not taken the course) or it may be used towards other electives per academic advisor approval. Please see below participation options and details.

- ENGR 461: Product Lean Launch for Engineers
- Option 1: Equivalent to ENGR 461 with guaranteed scholarship
This option is a two-part commitment. The structure is as follows:
- Part one (Fall 2023 or Spring 2024)
- Students who complete the 2023 Fall or 2024 Spring I-Corps Site program OR completed/currently enrolled in ENGR 461 OR other equivalent course
- Enrolled in the College of Engineering full-time (Fall 2023/ Spring 2024)
- Part two (Summer 2024)
- Takes place in the summer in Portugal
- ENGR 461: 1 credit hour (I-Corps training, customer discovery)
- Is grade bearing
- Deliverables due
*Eligible for program stipend (up to $2,500 limited to twenty qualified candidates) and ENGR[X] zero credit hour
- Part one (Fall 2023 or Spring 2024)
- Option 2: Equivalent to ENGR 461
The second option of this program is only a one-part commitment. The structure is as follow
- Part one (summer)
- Takes place in the summer in Portugal
- ENGR 461: 3 transfer credit hours
- Program activities (See syllabus in VIA)
- Transfer letter grade: This does not impact GPA
