As a Texas A&M University College of Engineering Global Program participant, students are required to attend “Raising Your Cultural IQ: A Cultural Competency Seminar.” This is a comprehensive seminar during which students will look at how different cultures communicate and how misunderstandings occur by examining the stumbling blocks to effective intercultural communication. Students will learn skills to better prepare them for cultural differences faced while on their global program.

Any questions specifically related to a particular global program destination should be discussed during the pre-departure program orientations.

Refreshments and snacks will be provided for all attendees.

If you are participating in a Wintermester or Spring program you will need to attend one of the Fall Cultural IQ workshops in November or December.

If you are participating in a Maymester, Summer or Augustmester program you will need to attend one of the Spring Cultural IQ workshops in May.

Make sure you check in 15 minutes before the start of the workshop.
