Tuition and fees associated with the Texas A&M Engineering Academy program are handled separately by Blinn College-Brenham and Texas A&M University. Students are billed by each institution based on the number of credit hours taken, respectively.

Students in the Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Blinn-Brenham (TEBR) are coded as non-degree seeking (NDS) at Texas A&M University while they are coenrolled. As such, students seeking to apply for financial aid will submit their FAFSA to Blinn College and apply for financial aid with Blinn College listed as their home institution. Additional information is available on the Blinn College financial aid website. As per the Engineering Academy agreement, the combined credit hours from both Blinn College and Texas A&M University will be used to assess enrollment status required for financial aid.

Students in the TEBR program will apply for scholarships through the two-year institution while they are co-enrolled. Once they are prepared to transition to Texas A&M University as a full-time student in the College of Engineering degree-granting major, they can submit a Texas A&M University “continuing student” scholarship application. Specific information and application deadlines are available on the Texas A&M University Scholarships website. The application will not be considered until the student’s record is officially updated from non-degree seeking to degree-seeking. This change occurs once the student receives entry to a major and identifies the term they will fully transition to Texas A&M University. Students are encouraged to speak with the academic advising office of their admitted major to confirm if there are any department specific scholarships available. Students in the TEBR program are not considered for Texas A&M University “transfer” scholarships since they are already Texas A&M University students once they enter the engineering academy and they do not submit an Apply Texas transfer application when they enter a College of Engineering degree-granting major.

Engineering students in the Engineering Academy program participate in a living-learning community at Blinn College in Brenham. The housing policies, fees and deadlines are as follows:

  1. A housing application and deposit fee is due by the Blinn College deadline. Detailed information can be found on the Blinn housing application website.
  2. On-campus housing requires a minimum of nine Blinn credit-hours per semester.

Students removed from the academy for any reason in the fall semester will be required to increase their Blinn credit hours to at least 12 to remain in Blinn housing for the spring semester.

Hazlewood Exemption for Veterans

Students must be fully admitted and degree-seeking to qualify for the Hazelwood Exemption at Texas A&M University. Students enrolled in engineering academies are considered non-degree seeking and  do not qualify for the Hazlewood Exemption until fully transitioned to a College Station engineering major.
