Below are some of the benefits students will enjoy at the Texas A&M University Engineering Academy at Blinn College-Brenham:

  • Students will be coenrolled at Texas A&M University and Blinn College-Brenham. Students in the Engineering Academy enroll in one engineering course through Texas A&M each semester. These courses are taught by Texas A&M faculty on the Blinn College-Brenham campus. All math, science and other core curriculum courses are taken through Blinn College-Brenham.
  • Students will have the option to participate in a Living Learning Community on the Blinn College-Brenham campus.
  • Mathematics and science courses — which build the foundation for engineering skills — have smaller student-faculty ratios, giving students the ability to connect more closely with their professors.
  • Students will have opportunities to participate in student activities and organizations at both institutions to the fullest extent possible. Participation in NJCAA Division I sports is allowed on the Blinn College-Brenham campus, provided the student enrolls in at least 12 Blinn College-Brenham credit hours.
  • Students enjoy substantial financial savings! Students in the Engineering Academy are charged tuition and fees by the institution through which each course is registered. Texas A&M coursework is registered in absentia which allows for a deduction in fees for services not used by students enrolled in a course conducted away from the Texas A&M campus.
  • Students who earn a minimum 3.75 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) at both Blinn College-Brenham and Texas A&M and who complete the required coursework are guaranteed entry to one of their top choices of engineering major after the required Entry to a Major (ETAM) coursework is completed. Detailed information can be found on the ETAM webpage by clicking on one of the “Coenrollment Program Requirements” tabs that corresponds to your class year.
