The Graduate Programs Office for the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering is located on the fourth floor of the Richardson Building (RICH 401W) on the Texas A&M Campus. Our administration and staff assists new graduate students with initial course selection, identifying potential faculty advisors, and any of the administrative requirements related to your graduate education at Texas A&M.

Our Administration and Staff

Here are critical members of our administration and staff, and how they can help you.

  • Dr. Jenn-Tai Liang oversees our entire program from the admission process to graduation,
  • Dr. Ding Zhu coordinates reviews of submitted applications and meets with prospective students who have questions about the program,
  • Eleanor Schuler works closely with our program director and can help you with academic and general questions, and
  • Barbi Miller assists with application packets, letters and graduate seminars.

Office Assignments

Once you submit a completed Advisor Selection Form to our Graduate Programs Office, you are contacted by email to arrange access to your office.  Two things you need to know:

  • Office space is a privilege, not a right, and is assigned based on availability and in conjunction with your advisor.
  • You must have a TAMU ID card to receive office space access.

Mailbox Assignments

All graduate students receive a mailbox space in the Graduate Program Office suite (RICH 401). Check it weekly for important mail and information. Note: you should be checking your university email daily.

Accessing Computers, Labs, and Offices

You will need card-swipe access in order to use our computers. To request an account, see the IT Managers in RICH 901 for a request form. You must complete it, have it signed, and turn it in to the Graduate Programs Office before your account can be created.

For access to labs or graduate offices, take your advisor's written and signed approval, along with your TAMU ID card, to Joevan Beladi in Room 401P.
