Eligibility

The Texas A&M-Chevron Engineering Academy at Austin Community College is for first-time, full-time students and continuing students who have earned a high school diploma or equivalent and are pre-calculus or calculus ready as determined by Austin Community College. Students interested in the Texas A&M-Chevron Engineering Academy at Austin Community College must first secure admission to Austin Community College. 

First-time, full-time students should submit an application to Austin Community College and an additional prequalification form. Students must take engineering, mathematics and science courses at Austin Community College-Highland campus.

Continuing students who are already enrolled at Austin Community College and wish to participate in the Engineering Academy program should submit a prequalification form. Students must take engineering, math and science courses at Austin Community College-Highland campus.

Austin Community College will provide pre-qualified students the link to the Texas A&M Engineering Academy application. Students should submit the Texas A&M Engineering Academy application by June 1 and all supporting documents to the Texas A&M Office of Admissions by June 15. Detailed information, instructions and contact information can be found on the Austin Community College website.

Successful applicants will receive an offer of admission from Texas A&M to the Engineering Academy at Austin Community College and will be advised on how to accept the offer and register for courses.

Students admitted and enrolled in the Texas A&M-Chevron Engineering Academy program are engineering students in the College of Engineering at Texas A&M and are enrolled at Austin Community College. Once enrolled, all courses must be completed through Austin Community College and Texas A&M University. Students previously enrolled at Texas A&M University are not eligible to apply.
