Research activities in the Information Science and Learning Systems program are focused on advancing the state of the art in areas including information theory, coding theory, data compression, detection and estimation, receiver signal processing, networking coding and network information theory, multimedia security, secrecy systems, optimization techniques, robust control, adaptive control and control of multi-agent systems. Current research projects include both fundamental research in the above areas as well as applied research. Typical applications are in communication networks, wireless networks, sensor networks, data storage systems, aircraft control, intelligent vehicular systems and robotics.
