About Counseling & Psychological Services

School life can be stressful. Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) and the College of Engineering have partnered to help promote your mental health and wellness. We recognize that students' schedules are very demanding, so CAPS offers office hours in the Zachry Engineering Education Complex (ZACH 382E).

CAPS also provides non-emergency, same-day assistance for immediate emotional support needs at the Student Services Building, 4th floor, M-F, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For life-threatening concerns or when the university is closed, our HelpLine is available at 979-845-2700. For more information on all services provided by CAPS, visit the CAPS services website. Several notable resources include Self-Help, Emergency Resources, and the Let's Talk Program

CAPS values and celebrates the diversity of our students, and we strive to support and empower our students as they embark and continue on their journeys at Texas A&M University.

Locations and Hours

The CAPS office in Zachry (ZACH 382E) is open from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Monday through Friday (by appointment only). Drop-in hours are also available on Tuesdays (1:30-4:30 p.m.) and Fridays (10 a.m.- noon). To increase accessibility and ensure students' and staff members' safety and health, both telehealth options and in-person sessions will be available for individual counseling sessions for the Fall semester. Initial appointments, Drop-In Hours, and group sessions will remain by telehealth only.
