About Counseling & Psychological Services

School life can be stressful. Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) and the College of Engineering have partnered to help promote your mental health and wellness. We recognize that students' schedules are very demanding, so CAPS offers office hours in the Zachry Engineering Education Complex (ZACH 382E).

To schedule your first meeting, register for services at https://tamucapsportal.pointnclick.com/. For more information on all services provided by CAPS, please visit the CAPS website.

Locations and Hours

The CAPS office in Zachry (ZACH 382E) is open from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday (by appointment only). Drop-in hours are also available on Tuesdays (1:30-4:30 p.m.) and Fridays (10 a.m.- noon)To ensure students' and staff members' safety and health, all meetings this fall will be held by Zoom.

Meet our Counselor

Carmen Mota smiling.Carmen Mota, M.A., LPC-S, graduated from Texas A&M University, class of 2001, and Sam Houston State University in 2008. She has been working in the mental health field since 2002 and has been a licensed professional counselor since 2011.
