Dane Plumley ’04 was a husband, father, engineer, and loyal friend. One of his friends was Alex Kamkar ’06. From cadets to colleagues, Plumley and Kamkar had a lasting and meaningful friendship. In honor of Plumley’s generosity and passion for engineering, Kamkar created the Dane Plumley ’04 Memorial Endowed Scholarship to ensure Dane’s professional legacy lives on by helping the next generation of Aggie Engineer
Before graduating with a civil engineering degree, Plumley was a chaplain in the Corps of Cadets and the commander of Company F-2.
“Dane was a tremendous individual,” Kamkar said. “He and I were in the corps of cadets together in the early 2000s and lived in the same dorm for one year. He later joined the homebuilding and development industry as an engineer, and later as a project manager at Friendswood Development Company and later Bold Fox.”
Kamkar remembers recruiting Dane to join their company, Bold Fox Development, and how truly honored he was when he finally did.
“Dane was a dedicated servant to the American Dream,” Kamkar said. “He loved being a developer and helping create the canvas for the American Dream. He was consistently focused on doing the right thing for his buddies and for the community.”
Kamkar and Dane were united by their dedication to Texas A&M. The Dane Plumley ’04 Memorial Scholarship memorializes Dane’s passion for engineering, love for Texas A&M, and, most of all his, generosity. The scholarship’s impact will change the lives of students for many years to come.
“We want the scholarship to help create more engineers who will help build and develop the state of Texas for the next generation,” Kamkar said.
