Texas A&M University's College of Engineering is again ranked No. 1 in Texas and tied for No. 6 overall, jumping up eight spots from last year, for its online graduate engineering program in the 2025 rankings from the U.S. News & World Report

The program also ranked 13th overall for Best Online Graduate Engineering Programs for Veterans.

U.S. News evaluates schools based on factors such as student engagement, faculty credentials, and services and technologies. More than 1,600 online bachelor's and master's degree programs were evaluated in the rankings based on metrics specific to online learning. The rankings only include degree-granting programs offered primarily online by regionally accredited institutions.

Texas A&M's online graduate engineering program caters to working professionals, offering degrees that equip students with essential skills and knowledge to advance their careers.

"Achieving a top ranking as an online engineering graduate degree program is a testament to the innovation, dedication and excellence of our faculty, students and curriculum," said Dr. Sunay Palsole, assistant vice chancellor for engineering remote education. "This recognition underscores our dedication to providing students with a world-class learning experience, no matter where they are."

Three of the college's department online degrees were also ranked in the top 10 in the nation. The Master of Engineering in mechanical engineering tied for 7th with University of California--Los Angeles, and the Master of Science in electrical engineering tied for 8th with Columbia University. The Master of Engineering in industrial engineering tied 10th with Virginia Tech.

The College of Engineering's online graduate program offers 15 online master's degree options, two doctoral degree options and nine certificate options.
