I didn't realize it at the time, but it is true - the spirit of Aggieland can ne’er be told.
Kenneth Do ’00 is a first-generation student and immigrant who experienced the transformative power of higher education firsthand. Because of his humble beginnings, he had to work diligently to earn the scholarships that supported him while at Texas A&M University. Now, he is reciprocating that generosity through the Kenneth S. Do ’00 Endowed Scholarship.
Having to overcome personal and educational difficulties, Do was grateful for the donors who impacted his college experience through scholarships. Financial support allowed him to focus more on his coursework and extracurriculars rather than worrying about college expenses and the financial burden on his family.
For Do, Aggieland always felt like a home away from home. The people he met quickly became his second family. He knew the experiences and relationships he gained while attending Texas A&M differed from anywhere else.
“I didn't realize it at the time, but it is true - the spirit of Aggieland can ne’er be told,” said Do.
One of the main reasons Do chose Texas A&M was due to its remarkable engineering curriculum. The university fostered his passion for engineering and served as a steppingstone to help launch his career. He received his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and computer science in 2000. Ever since, Do has utilized his degree to advance his career at PepsiCo., where he currently serves as the senior director of sales and distribution.
Through his generous gift, Do is proud to make education more accessible for students of all backgrounds. Do hopes to be a catalyst in a student's path to achievement as there are many obstacles a student must overcome. His contributions — driven by Do’s belief in the value of advancing education — are paving the way for the success of future Aggie engineers. Highlighting the importance of giving back, Do aims to keep the power of the Aggie Spirit alive. These endowments just like Do’s support students in the college and have an immeasurable impact on their education.
