Two staff members from the J. Mike Walker ’66 Department of Mechanical Engineering were honored with Texas A&M University’s most prestigious staff honor, the President’s Meritorious Service Award.

Jennifer Bloom, senior administrative coordinator II, was recognized in the “Individual” category, and Alex Troyer, technical laboratory coordinator, was recognized in the “New Employee” category.

The President’s Meritorious Service Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate their commitment to the Aggie core values of excellence, integrity, leadership, loyalty, respect and selfless service.

“Jen and Alex are both incredible examples of dedication and service,” said Sharli Nucker, senior director of operations in the mechanical engineering department. “Their contributions are felt throughout our department community, from our current and former students to faculty and fellow staff members. Our department is better because of them, and we are so grateful for all of their hard work.”

Bloom manages the administrative support for the office of the department head, and Troyer oversees the 3D printing lab and shared services lab for the department.

Bloom and Troyer, along with the other honorees from across the university, will be recognized at a ceremony on April 24 in the Memorial Student Center.
