Erin and Wesley “Wes” Lohec ’81 have established the Erin and Wesley Lohec ’81 Scholarship to benefit one or more students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University.

Lohec retired from the Chevron Corporation in June 2018 after 37 years of distinguished service. Throughout the course of his tenure at Chevron, he held a wide variety of positions, culminating with his role as corporate vice president of Health, Environment and Safety, a position he held since 2011.

Lohec joined Chevron in 1981 as a drilling engineer. From there he served as managing director of the Latin America strategic business unit for Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production Company in Caracas, Venezuela.

He has been instrumental in shaping the trajectory and development of the Department of Chemical Engineering. His service as a member of the advisory council and as chair in 2018, have proven invaluable.
