Congratulations to Texas A&M University graduates Candyce Ward ’06 and Harold Cobb ’82 for being named 2019 Engineers of the Year by Houston Engineers Week.
According to its website, “Houston Engineers Week is dedicated to the promotion of the profession of engineering as a social and economic influence vital to the welfare of the community, the State of Texas, the United States of America and all mankind.”
Ward was named one of the Young Engineers of the Year for 2019 and is a senior hydrologist at Cobb Fendley. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in water resources, she began impacting the communities surrounding Houston and Harris counties.
Cobb was named 2019 Engineer of the Year, and is executive vice president and the central operating group manager at Terracon Consultants. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M, and his Master of Business Administration from LeTourneau University. His 35-year career has been marked by mentorships, continuous learning and giving back to his alma mater. Besides serving on the Texas A&M Civil Engineering Advisory Council, he is also chair of the Texas Engineering Foundation Board of Trustees.
