The intensive design experience can serve as a workplace simulator for engineering students, giving them the opportunity to work alongside peers. It has proven over and over again the benefits of learning through real-life experience.

This innovation, developed by Rodney Boehm, director of engineering entrepreneurship and the Artie McFerrin ’65 Associate Professor of Practice in the College of Engineering, has earned Boehm a featured speaking role at VentureWell’s upcoming 2019 OPEN Conference, which is focused on entrepreneurship.

VentureWell recently highlighted the impact of Boehm’s program here: “Intensive Design Experience: Preparing Engineering Students for the Real World.”
