Carol H. Hamm has established the Hamm Family Scholarship in honor of her children, Deborah Hamm Nikolis ’89 and Robert Alan Hamm ’92. This endowment will provide one or more scholarships to full-time students in good standing attending the Mays Business School or Zachry Department of Civil Engineering who have elected to participate in a study abroad program.
In 1979, the Hamm family moved to Beaumont, Texas, where their children attended high school.
“Two of our children attended and thrived at Texas A&M,” Hamm said. “They made lifelong friends, met their spouses and went on to successful careers.”
Two of Hamm’s grandchildren currently attend Texas A&M and have participated in study abroad programs led by the university.
“They have benefited greatly from participating in study abroad programs,” Hamm said. “In an age of increasing globalization, study abroad programs enrich student’s personal lives and career opportunities.”
