Carolyn and Edwin Moerbe ’61 have established the Edwin and Carolyn Moerbe Scholarship to provide one or more scholarships to full-time students in good standing who plan to pursue an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University.
This scholarship is the second established by the Moerbes. Their goal in establishing their endowments is to alleviate the financial burden of attending school.
“We chose electrical and computer engineering for our first endowment to honor our grandson, who is a current student in the department,” Moerbe said.
The Moerbes chose the chemical engineering department for their most recent endowment in honor of their other grandson, who followed in Edwin’s footsteps and graduated from the department.
“As a chemical engineering major myself,” Moerbe said, “I wouldn’t have been able to complete my degree if I had not received the Opportunity Award Scholarship. I knew that once I was able to provide the same opportunity for a student, I wanted to do so.”
