Linda and Joe Fowler ’68 have established the Linda and Joe Fowler ’68 Endowed Scholarship in Aerospace, Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering to be used to provide three or more scholarships to full-time students in good standing who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in aerospace, biomedical or mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University.

Joe Fowler is the former president of Stress Engineering, a firm focused on providing solutions for companies and industries that require in-depth technical knowledge and proven performance in the fields of engineering design and analysis, thermal and fluid sciences, instrumentation and testing. He has also a two-time Aggie 100 recipient (2005 and 2009) as well as an Engineering Outstanding Alumni in 2000. He earned his bachelor’s with honors, master’s and doctoral degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M.

The Fowlers understand the importance of different fields of engineering. This prompted them to establish scholarships in multiple engineering disciplines.

“My son and myself graduated with degrees in mechanical engineering,” says Fowler. “My grandson is currently studying aerospace engineering at Texas A&M and I have come to appreciate the excitement of the field and there is no doubt that biomedical engineering is a huge part of the future for everyone,” says Fowler.
