M. Susanne and Rudy Dismuke ’78 have established the Chieko T. Dismuke Memorial Scholarship IV in the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering to be used to provide one or more scholarships to full-time students in good standing who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University.

This is the fourth scholarship in memory of Rudy Dismuke’s mother, Chieko T. Dismuke. In addition to the scholarships in memory of his mother, the couple has also created scholarships honoring four of Dismuke’s professors at Texas A&M.

“Each of the four professors and my mother have inspired me to succeed and instilled a wealth of knowledge in me over the years,” Dismuke said.

The Dismukes are dedicated to giving back, not only to the university as a whole, but especially to the department Rudy was in while attending Texas A&M.

“I have always given to the Association of Former Students, but I decided to give back to the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering because of the values and knowledge it provided me with,” Dismuke said.
