A group of former students has established an endowed scholarship to honor Jerry Bradshaw ’60 for his contribution to teaching and mentoring of countless undergraduate students in the Chemical Engineering Department.
Bradshaw served on the faculty for 23 years and retired in 2012. Prior to joining the chemical engineering department, he worked for the Union Carbide Corporation for more than 27 years before retiring in 1987.
Bradshaw, a registered professional engineer in Texas, has been the recipient of countless awards and honors. During his teaching career he was the recipient of both college-level and university-level distinguished teaching awards, as well as several teaching awards from the Student Chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He is co-class agent in the Association of Former Students for the 1960 A&M class, and is a member of the Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets Association.
The Jerry Bradshaw ’60 Endowed Scholarship was given by friends and former students of Bradshaw from the Class of ’96. Members of the donor group are Stephanie Hertzog ’96, a member of the department’s advisory council; Michael Piana ’96; Ivan Goldwasser ’96; Jose-Angel Ontiveros ’96; Thomas Clingenpeel ’96; and Kristopher Ali ’96. The recipients of the scholarship will be selected by a committee and must be a chemical engineering major.
