M. Katherine Banks, vice chancellor and dean of engineering, has appointed Dr. Prabhakar Pagilla holder of the James J. Cain Professorship II in Mechanical Engineering. The endowed professorship appointment was effective Sept. 1.
Pagilla is a Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University.
He received his Bachelor of Engineering from Osmania University, and his Master of Science and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
Pagilla’s research interests include: modeling and control of roll-to-roll manufacturing systems and autonomous vehicles; robotics/mechatronics; and control of large-scale nonlinear dynamic systems.
