M. Katherine Banks, vice chancellor and dean of engineering, has appointed Dr. Nasir G. Gharaibeh holder of the Zachry Career Development Professorship I in the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering. The endowed development professorship appointment was effective Sept. 1.
Gharaibeh is an associate professor and division head, transportation and materials engineering in the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering at Texas A&M University.
He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science, both from Jordan University of Science and Technology, and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Gharaibeh’s research interests include: infrastructure condition assessment and deterioration modeling; infrastructure management decision support systems; infrastructure lifecycle analysis; quality assurance systems for infrastructure construction and maintenance; and pavement design, preservation and management.
