M. Katherine Banks, vice chancellor and dean of engineering, has appointed Dr. Bryan Rasmussen the Leland T. Jordan Career Development Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in recognition of his accomplishments and future potential. The endowed professorship is effective April 1.
Rasmussen is an associate professor in mechanical engineering. He joined the Texas A&M engineering faculty in September 2012. Rasmussen received his bachelor’s degree from Utah State University, and his master’s degree and Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, all in mechanical engineering.
His research interests are in dynamic modeling and control of thermo-fluid energy systems, model reduction, model validation, automated modeling, nonlinear control, robust control and alternative energy systems.
