M. Katherine Banks, vice chancellor and dean of engineering, has appointed Dr. Partha Mukherjee the Morris E. Foster Faculty Fellow II in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in recognition of his accomplishments and future potential. The endowed faculty fellowship is effective April 1.
Mukherjee is an assistant professor in mechanical engineering. He joined the Texas A&M engineering faculty in 2012. Mukherjee received his bachelor’s degree from North Bengal University, India, his master’s degree from India Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. from Penn State University, all in mechanical engineering.
His research interests are in electrochemical energy storage and conversion (batteries, fuel cells); processing/transport/property interactions; mesoscale physics and stochastics in energy materials and manufacturing.
