M. Katherine Banks, vice chancellor and dean of engineering, has appointed Dr. David Ford the Beavers Charitable Trust/William F. Urban ’41 Professor in Construction Engineering and Management in the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering in recognition of his exceptional record as a researcher and educator. The endowed professorship appointment is effective April 1.
Ford is a professor in civil engineering. He joined the Texas A&M engineering faculty in 2000. Ford received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tulane University and his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
His research interests include sustainability in built infrastructure, managerial real options, construction as a product development process, project management process design and system dynamics.
