Matthew Aguirre, a senior in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University, has been selected as the first-place winner of the James Barany Student Award for Excellence from the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineering (IISE).
The award recognizes undergraduate students who have exemplified excellence of scholarship and campus leadership since the beginning of their junior year. The Texas A&M IIE student chapter could nominate two graduating seniors for this award.
Aguirre will graduate in May with plans to eventually earn his Ph.D. in industrial engineering. He will be honored at the IIE Annual Conference and Expo at the end of May.
