Aggieland Saturday brought approximately 13,000 visitors to campus to explore all Texas A&M has to offer through guided tours, presentations, resource tables and the opportunity to meet with faculty and staff representatives. The college of engineering hosted more than 4,000 of those visitors with information and tours specific to engineering.

The event kicked off in Rudder Auditorium with a presentation by Dr. Valerie Taylor, senior dean for academic affairs, with the Engineering Academics and Student Affairs (EASA) office. Taylor highlighted the many benefits of an engineering degree; her presentation was followed by the Office of Admissions explaining the application process for the prospective students and their parents.

“We’re always excited to welcome students and their families to the college of engineering and let them see first hand why Texas A&M Engineering is an excellent choice for them,” said Taylor.

The visitors were then welcomed to the Engineering Activities Buildings where all departments, college programs and student organizations had resource booths. In total, there were more than 30 present with handouts, demonstrations and information. This gave visitors the opportunity to meet with faculty, staff and students to learn more about each program.

In addition to the resources in the Engineering Activities buildings, each department hosted additional activities throughout campus. Visitors could take laboratory tours, see demonstrations and learn more about each discipline.
