Dr. J.N. Reddy, professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University, has been elected a Foreign Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering. Reddy is being recognized for his lifetime contributions to research and education in engineering, and his profound impact on Indian engineers and scientists as well as students of engineering and applied mathematics.

The Indian National Academy of Engineering, established in 1987, is a peer body of distinguished engineers and technologists, that aims to promote and advance the practice of engineering and technology, related sciences and disciplines and their applications to problems of national importance. Reddy has organized and participated in professional workshops, conferences, short courses and advanced study institutes that have benefited Indian engineers and scientists over the years.

In addition to this prestigious award, Reddy was recently inducted into Oklahoma State University’s College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT) Hall of Fame. Reddy received his master’s degree from Oklahoma State University in 1970 and was awarded the Lohmann Medal from CEAT in 1997 for his research contributions. Only 0.5 percent of the alumni who are distinguished graduates of Oklahoma State University are elected into the Hall of Fame.
