Kezunovic, MladenDr. Mladen Kezunovic, the Eugene E. Webb Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University, was invited to serve on the review panel of the Physical Measurement Laboratory at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Kezunovic, director of the Power System Control and Protection Laboratory in the department and the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station Smart Grid Center, will serve on the panel, which is charged with assessing the scientific and technical work performed by the NIST Physical Measurement Laboratory.

The assessment will be based on reviewing technical reports and technical program descriptions prepared by NIST staff, and visiting the facilities at the Physical Measurement Laboratory. Visits will include technical presentations by NIST staff, demonstrations of NIST projects, tours of NIST facilities and discussions with NIST staff. The panel will prepare a report summarizing its assessment findings.

The panelists for this review were appointed by the National Research Council from academia, industry, medicine and other scientific and engineering organizations. The National Research Council is the working arm of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, non-profit, private institutions that provide expert advice on some of the most pressing challenges facing the nation and the world.
