Growth in 2015

Faculty growth in the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University grew by a factor of five in 2015; in the spirit of increase, three assistant professors were promoted with tenure Sept. 1.

INTRODUCING NEW FACULTY MEMBERS:

James Harris - Professor of Practice

“Great to be at Texas A&M...I didn't go to school here, but got here as soon as I could!” he said. 

Sang-II Kwon - Assistant Professor
Ph.D., University of California, Los Angeles, 2015
“It is with great delight that I begin my professional career at this highly ranked institution,” he said. 

Pushkar Lele - Assistant Professor
Ph.D., University of Delaware, 2010
“Doing the research I love in a vibrant and supportive environment,” he said. 

Phanourios Tamamis - Assistant Professor

“To pursue great teaching and research–for this I am here,” he said. 

Homa Khosravian - Research Assistant Professor

“I am so excited to be a part of the chemical engineering family at Texas A&M University. It is truly an honor to start my academic career here,” she said.

Mustafa Akbulut - Associate Professor

Jodie Lutkenhaus - Associate Professor
Ph.D., Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 2007
"I am excited to begin this new phase of my career,” she said. 

Sreeram Vaddiraju - Associate Professor

He said the promotion is “a small step in realizing my dream of becoming a successful academic, but also [is] a testament to the support provided by the chemical engineering department and Texas A&M University.”
