He is one of four faculty members in the Dwight Look College of Engineering selected to receive the award.

Since 1955, the Distinguished Achievement Award has recognized outstanding faculty members at Texas A&M for their talent and commitment to teaching. Award winners will be honored at the college’s annual spring awards banquet in 2016, where they will receive a monetary gift and an award plaque.

A letter from Dr. Guy Curry, professor in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and six letters from students supported Moreno-Centeno’s nomination.

“I feel blessed that my passion for teaching is valued,” Moreno-Centeno said. “I am very grateful to Dr. Curry and all the students who provided the endorsement letters.”

Since joining the department in 2010, Moreno-Centeno has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in operations research and optimization.
