Petersen CroppedKelly Pettersen, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, is among the 2015 Honorable Mentions from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP). 

NSF’s Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) is a highly competitive, nationally recognized program. Over 15,000 applications were received by NSF. The top 2,000 applicants, or about 12.5 percent, are offered the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, and the next 12.5 percent are the Honorable Mentions. 

According to Dr. Valerie P. Wilson, acting division director for the Division of Graduate Education at NSF, receiving an Honorable Mention from NSF’s GRFP, “is considered a significant national academic achievement.”
