After serving for several years on the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering's Advisory Council, Brent Lyon was recently elected chair.
Lyon has been with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Fort Worth, Texas for 28 years and currently holds the position of senior manager of industrial engineering systems. He is responsible for common processes and systems across multiple sites within the aeronautics business line.
In addition to sponsoring an ISEN capstone project each semester, Lyon is a regular guest lecturer in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University on the topic of Lean Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturability. He is a registered professional engineer in Texas, a Lockheed Martin black belt, and holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering in industrial engineering from Texas A&M.
