STLE Houston Session Scholarship 2

Three graduate students from the Dwight look College of Engineering at Texas A&M University received the STLE-Houston Session Scholarship.

Zhihao Tony Huang and Thomas Kerr from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Jingren Li from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering were recognized at an award luncheon in Houston in early March. The scholarship is to encourage students to conduct research in the field of tribology.

Huang is working on tribocorrosion, one of the key factors to influence the service life of components used in oil/gas and automobile applications. Kerr is currently building a tribotesting system in order to characterize functional materials and Li has been involved in studying nanoparticles that are used for improving tribological performance.
