Dr. Hong Liang, professor in Texas A&M University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, is garnering international media attention for her research involving robotic cockroaches. While it may sound like the stuff of nightmares, Liang and her team fit household cockroaches with miniature computers wired into the insect’s nervous system, allowing operators to control its movements.
