Dr. M. Katherine Banks, vice chancellor and dean of engineering, has appointed Dr. Duane McVay holder of the Albert B. Stevens Chair in Petroleum Engineering. The endowed professorship was effective March 1.
McVay, is a professor in the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering, and is also the assistant department head for academics. McVay holds a Ph.D., master’s degree and bachelor’s degree, all in petroleum engineering and all from Texas A&M University.
His research interests include reservoir simulation; uncertainty quantification; integrated reservoir characterization and management; project evaluation; and unconventional resources.
