P -imbrieDr. P.K. Imbrie and Dr. Teri Reed, along with their co-authors, have been selected to receive the William Elgin Wickenden Award of the American Society for Engineering Education.

Teri -reedThe award, which will be presented at the ASEE Annual Conference and Exposition in June, is given annually to recognize an article that represents the highest standards of scholarly research in engineering education among the articles published in the Journal of Engineering Education in each volume year.

Imbrie and Reed were co-authors on the article “Research-Informed Policy Change: A Retrospective on Engineering Admissions,” that appeared in the April 2014 issue of the journal.

Imbrie is the director of undergraduate academic programs in the Engineering Academic & Student Affairs office and an associate professor in the Dwight Look College of Engineering.

Reed is assistant vice chancellor for academic affairs, the assistant agency director of workforce development for the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES), and an associate professor in the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering. 

The other authors of the article include Dr. Beth M. Holloway, assistant dean for undergraduate education and director of the Women in Engineering program at Purdue University and Dr. Kenneth Reid, associate professor of engineering at Virginia Tech.
