Monty MuellerMonty Mueller was a highly successful management consultant and partner with Accenture from 1984 to 2003. In 2007, he was named vice president and regional director of Phoenix House Foundation, Inc. where he was responsible for the management of a wide range of substance abuse prevention and treatment services in Texas including residential and outpatient treatment, aftercare and family support services. He continued his affiliation with Phoenix House till his retirement in 2011.

Mueller also ran his own businesses from 2004 to 2012. He graduated from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Texas A&M University in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in computer engineering.

He is currently the CSE Advisory Council Vice Chair. Before his current appointment, Mueller chaired the fundraising committee. During that time, Unocal Professor Nancy M. Amato was the interim department head and had this to say about Mueller's contributions as fundraising chair. "From summer 2013 to September 2014, we more than doubled the number of endowed scholarships in the department from 8 to 17. I attribute much of this success to Monty's phenomenal leadership in chairing the fundraising committee of the Department's Advisory Council. He helped us to better reach out to the former students, faculty and friends of the department."

This past fall, Mueller continued leading by example when he and his wife established the Stephanie & Monty Mueller '84 Endowed Scholarship. Mueller and his wife requested that CSE award this four year scholarship to incoming freshmen pursuing a degree in either computer science or computer engineering and maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA.

This spring, Mueller will be honored as a Distinguished Former Student at the CSE annual awards banquet. "Mr. Mueller has been a key player in our strategy to engage former students, actively creating new opportunities for us to involve more of them in our path toward excellence. His successful career and his dedication to our department make him an outstanding role model for our current students," said Dr. Dilma M. Da Silva, department head, professor and Holder of the Ford Motor Company Design Professorship II.
