Dr. M. Katherine Banks, vice chancellor and dean of engineering, has appointed Dr. Arun Srinivasa holder of the Holdredge/Paul Professorship in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Srinivasa has made outstanding contributions to the mechanical engineering program through teaching, student relations and curriculum development. He also serves as the associate department head.
The Holdredge/Paul Professorship was established by Thomas Paul in 1996 in honor of Dr. Edwin S. Holdredge, who served the department as a professor for more than 40 years, and influenced hundreds of Aggie mechanical engineers during his career, one of them being Paul.
Paul graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in 1962. He has also served on the mechanical engineering Industrial Advisory Council and the Dwight Look College of Engineering External Advisory Council.
